ETFO Responds to the Haitian Crisis

In a website statement today, President Sam Hammond announced that the Board of Directors of the ETFO Humanity Fund has approved a $10,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with disaster relief in Haiti.

Soon after, ETFO Limestone President Mike Lumb announced an initial donation from his local of $250 for Haitian earthquate relief and challenged all other locals to make a contribution. At press time, that challenge had been answered by the Lakehead Teacher Local, the Hamilton-Wentworth Occasional Teacher Local, the Algoma Teacher Local, the Upper Canada Occasional Teacher Local, the Keewatin Patricia Teacher Local, and the Peel Teacher Local.

Members are encouraged to donate what they can to The Canadian Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders.
